The reality TV duo that made their 90 Day Fiancé debut on “Before the 90 Days” has welcomed their first child together. Their son, Pierre Noah Martins Staehle, was born at 3:20 p.m. on Friday, March 22nd. Pierre was born at a hospital in Manaus, Brazil.
Although this is their first child, this was Karine’s third pregnancy, due to having two prior miscarriages. Their first miscarriage occurred off camera. Their second pregnancy was announced on season 2 of ‘Before the 90 Days’, during which time the couple found out about the first miscarriage while filming for the show. The couple was obviously devastated. Thankfully, this third pregnancy was a success and the new parents can take relief in knowing they have a beautiful baby boy.
Karine had a difficult pregnancy and even more arduous delivery. It was reported by Soap Dirt that Karine suffered complications and she was in labor for two days, suffering in pain. At that time, Paul posted a troubling message on Instagram, stating that Karine needs thoughts and prayers. Fans quickly reacted and offered their support, also asking for further details regarding the complications. Paul decided not to go into details on social media and did not respond. Soon after, it was reported that the birth was successful, and everyone was okay.
The 90 Day Fiancé network, TLC, was one of the first to publicly announce the birth of Pierre on their Instagram on Monday, March 25th. The following photo was published with the caption: “A new #90dayfiance baby! Paul and Karine have welcomed their baby boy. Visit TLCme.com for all the details”.
It was discovered that their newborn, Pierre, was diagnosed with jaundice and would have to stay in the hospital for a few additional days in order to receive treatment. Paul shared a photo of Pierre under what seems to be a phototherapy light with the caption: “Pierre is receiving treatment. Unfortunately he will be in the hospital longer than expected. His release is being delayed until his condition improves. PRAYERS PLEASE.”
A fan commented: “Jaundice. Very common. He will be ok.”
Later that day, Paul responded: “Yes he seems to be doing better.”
Thankfully, Pierre has now returned home, and Paul has updated everyone by announcing, “Pierre and Karine are both home safe. Karine is recovering well.”
Paul has also been sharing photo updates:
Paul shared his thoughts about being a new dad to Us Weekly: “I’m very happy, very excited, I’m also very nervous and want to do everything the best that I can and do everything right. Everyone keeps asking how it feels to be a dad. Anyone can make a baby, but going through the day-to-day process of being a father is going to be a new experience. I’m very happy, very honored and very privileged and I want to make sure I do my absolute best for Pierre.”
Paul and Karine’s fans have provided the new parents a lot of support and positivity thus far and we’re happy to see such warming updates from them. Congratulations to Paul and Karine!
